Training must not stop even for staff that are struggling to grow

―――What should be done about staff who have worked for several years, and yet have struggled to grow?

Just because the staffing situation has been stabilized, this does not mean that a company’s challenges and goals have been resolved. This simply means that the conditions have been set where the training costs can be recouped. For staff that continue to grow, the company can aggressively invest in their growth and could even consider outsourcing the training for more high level and specialized skills, as long as the employees desire this.

On the other hand, it is understandable that a company is reluctant to spend past a certain price for training toward staff that are struggling to grow. However, it must be understood that it is illogical at times to stop training this type of employees.

Even staff whose performance have stagnated, should intrinsically have the potential to think on their own and act without being told.

Whether the company attempts to draw out this potential, simply utilize the staff’s current abilities, or asks the staff to change jobs, there is no one right answer to personnel management, and the only way to evaluate this is by looking at the end result.

All Cambodian staff function as necessary components to the company. In the case of a country like Cambodia with a culture that prefers work relationships to be like family relationships, individual roles are naturally organized appropriately by mutual understanding of each staff’s abilities and individuality, without the manager even realizing this happen.

The manager must manage personnel assuming that even the staff that are struggling to grow are producing a certain amount of value, within the boundaries of his or her job, assigned based on the staff’s skills and individuality.

CDL’s strength is in its outsourcing service, strengthened by the company’s personnel management

In other words, Cambodia is judged to be a country where it is difficult to nurture, acquire and maintain personnel compared to the rest of the world, and this also means that personnel recruiting companies such as CDL, has a lot to offer with services relating to helping Japanese corporations looking to expand with the training, acquiring and maintenance of personnel.
